Do You Know...?
There are a lot of things that we can learn in life. We spend several years in schools and universities trying to further our education, yet some people never learn the most important piece of history that ever happened. Jesus Christ came to earth to die for all of our sins. Let me explain to you what you have to do to go to heaven when you die.
1. We must realize that we are all sinners.
The Bible says in Romans 3:10 - “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:” and Romans 3:23 says - “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” This means that we have all done things that God does not like.
2. We must realize there is a penalty for our sin.
The Bible says in Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Just like there is a penalty if we break the law, God has put a penalty on us because we are sinners. The penalty is to die and spend eternity in hell.
3. We must realize that Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for our sin already.
The Bible says in Romans 5:8 - “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God loved us so much that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to leave heaven and come to earth to die for our sins.
4. We must realize that all we have to do is call upon Jesus to take us to heaven when we die.
The Bible says in Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” All you have to do accept Gods’ gift of heaven is to ask him to be your Saviour and take you to heaven.
Keep in mind that a prayer cannot take you to heaven; it’s simply you believing that Jesus Christ died for your sins. If you would like to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and have Him take you to heaven when you die, pray this prayer of forgiveness. “Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. Please come into my heart, and take me to heaven when I die. I trust You to take me to heaven when I die. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
